Biweekly timesheet template

Use fourteen rows for a pay period that repeats every two weeks. The Excel file generates consecutive dates from B6 and sums both weeks. Keep the full daily record when reviewing overtime separately; a two-week total alone cannot establish it.

Biweekly timesheet

Fourteen consecutive days with a period total. A two-week pay period remains separate from any weekly overtime calculation.

How to use these files

  1. Enter the first date of the fourteen-day period in B6, then add the employee or record name.
  2. Enter each shift and its total unpaid break minutes. An end before its start is treated as the next day; equal times mean zero.
  3. Check the daily results and two-week total. For a configured weekly overtime estimate, use the linked biweekly calculator and verify its workweek boundaries.

Biweekly always covers fourteen days. Semi-monthly follows calendar boundaries and can contain a different number of days; use the semi-monthly download in the template hub for that schedule.

An 80-hour period does not settle overtime

A first week of 45 hours and a second week of 35 hours totals 80:00. If a 40-hour weekly overtime rule applies and these rows align with those workweeks, five hours fall above the first week's threshold. The blank workbook reports the 80-hour total and intentionally does not assume that rule.

What the templates calculate

Excel subtracts total unpaid break minutes from each shift, then sums paid minutes. An end before its start means the next day; equal times mean zero hours. Use clock values from 00:00 to 23:59 and shifts shorter than 24 hours. The Check column flags incomplete times, invalid values and breaks longer than a shift; fix flagged rows before using the period total.

Only deduct breaks that are unpaid. Add multiple unpaid breaks together before entering their minutes. These files have one clock-in and clock-out pair per row; use the multiple in/out calculator for split shifts. Clock arithmetic does not adjust for daylight saving changes or time zones.

PDF and CSV files do not calculate automatically. CSV dates, daily hours and totals must be completed manually. Excel formulas show hours:minutes and decimal hours; displayed decimals round to two places while the period total uses exact whole minutes. No file assumes a wage or overtime rule, and a blank form does not guarantee compliance with every employer's recordkeeping obligations.
